For one weekend each August, the north side of Evansville sounds different. Street rods roll off trailers, parking lots become informal car galleries, and strangers compare paint, engines, and restoration stories as if they have known one another for years.
The 51st annual Frog Follies runs Friday, August 28 through Sunday, August 30, 2026, at the Vanderburgh 4-H Center. The organizers describe it as the country's largest independent show devoted to pre-1949 street rods. Even if you cannot tell a flathead from a small-block, the scale of the gathering makes it worth seeing.

Why your location matters
The 4-H Center is north of Evansville's main hotel and restaurant clusters. A place that looks “close to Evansville” on a booking page may still put you on the wrong side of town at the busiest time of day.
