The West Side Nut Club Fall Festival is not a tidy food fair that can be “done” in an hour. For one week, Evansville's Franklin Street becomes a dense mix of nonprofit food booths, carnival rides, amateur entertainment, parades, and reunions between people who seem to run into everyone they have ever met.

Decide what kind of visit you want
Different days serve different visitors.
- A weekday lunch emphasizes food and usually avoids the heaviest evening crowd.

- Multiple short visits work better than one endurance session if you are staying nearby.
The festival has more than 100 food booths. Trying to sample everything is not a strategy. Each person should pick one priority, then let the rest of the meal happen as you walk.

When the 2026 Munchie Map is released, save it to your phone before arriving. Choose a handful of booth numbers, not just food names. Franklin Street becomes much easier when your group can say “meet at Booth 42” instead of “meet by the fried-food stand.”

Make a transportation plan with an exit
Street closures and event traffic are part of Fall Festival week. The best parking space is not always the closest one; a legal space that lets you leave in the right direction can be more valuable.
Before you go:

- Pick a primary arrival route and a backup.
- Set a meeting point outside the densest section.
- Photograph where you parked.
- Give children a card with a guardian's phone number.
Do not rely on last year's shuttle schedule. Wait for current-year information.
Where to stay
The festival is on Evansville's west side, while much of the area's lodging inventory sits downtown or farther east. That is workable, but it makes address-level planning important.
