Why this is not a routine crosstown game
UE and USI have faced each other in several Division I sports, but their men's basketball programs have not met in a regular-season Division I game. USI moved to Division I for the 2022-23 season, creating the possibility of a matchup that previously crossed NCAA divisions.
The practical distinction is important for ticket buyers. Because the Evansville Regional Sports Commission is hosting the River City Classic as a neutral-site event, the game is not included in UE's 2026-27 men's basketball season-ticket package. A UE season ticket alone does not grant admission.
The schools have identified separate fan ends inside the arena: USI supporters are encouraged to choose the south end, while UE supporters are encouraged toward the north end. Check the seat map before paying if sitting with one fan base matters to your group.

Buy through an official ticket source
Ford Center says tickets purchased through its ticket office or Ticketmaster are the tickets it can verify. The ticket office is on the arena's Main Street side and is normally open noon to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Event-day hours differ, so do not build your plan around a last-minute walk-up purchase without checking first.
Neither the venue nor the universities currently publish a single guaranteed price for every available seat. Compare the live seat map and final checkout total rather than relying on a resale listing or an old screenshot.

Plan the downtown arrival, not just tipoff
The Ford Center sits in the downtown arena district, and the main entrance plaza faces Main Street. For most events, doors open one hour before the announced start; the River City Classic listing confirms a 6 p.m. opening.
Aim to be parked before doors if your group needs extra time, wants to visit the ticket office, or is unfamiliar with downtown one-way streets. The venue identifies accessible parking at the Civic Center and in surrounding garages, but those spaces are first come, first served. The Ford Center's current policies prohibit backpacks, outside food and drinks, and bags larger than 12 by 6 by 12 inches. All permitted bags are subject to search. The venue also prohibits re-entry, so a forgotten item can create more than a short delay.
For basketball, nonprofessional still cameras without flash are generally permitted, while cameras with detachable lenses and video-recording equipment are prohibited. If photography matters to you, confirm the policy again closer to November because event-specific rules can be stricter.
